The Somos One Golf Tournament was the first of its kind in the state of Nebraska in 2025. A cultural and community milestone that brought together golfers of all levels, young Latino musicians, DJs, and small businesses, many of whom had never had the opportunity to be part of the golf scene before. But this event was more than just a tournament. It was a bold step toward inclusivity in a traditionally exclusive sport and, most importantly, a fundraiser with a powerful purpose.

This year’s tournament raised critical funds to support Nebraska families impacted by recent ICE raids, with proceeds benefiting local organizations like CIRA Connect and the Heartland Workers Center, who are providing legal aid, emergency relief, and direct community support.

What made this event even more remarkable is that it was organized at a scale Nebraska had never seen before in ONLY 3O DAYS by the young founders of the Latino Golf Association (LGA): Nicolas Jaramillo, Nadeli Cortez, and Francisco Sandoval. With the support of their community, they built more than a golf tournament — they launched a legacy rooted in unity, cultural pride, and purpose.

The Somos One Golf Tournament proudly claims its place as Nebraska’s first Latino Golf Classic as this was just the beginning of a long lasting tradition. Moving forward, Somos One will return each year to unite the Latino community and its allies, raising funds for high-impact causes while reinvesting those resources into Latino-led initiatives that drive economic development, empowerment, and opportunity.
